FAI Design Your Perfect Aircraft International Contest

The Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI) is organizing a young artist contest in which children aged six to seventeen years are eligible to participate. The theme of the contest is to design your own aircraft. For participation, the contestant has to design their exclusive aircraft on paper with pens, crayons, or paints of their choice. The aim of the contest is to inspire the contestants by the ‘behind the scenes’ work of the aviation industry specialists. There is no deadline announced as of now. You can submit your drawing whenever you want.

The top three winners under each category will receive a gold, a silver, or a bronze medal along with a diploma. The contest is a national-level competition. Participating in the contest will give a huge exposure to your child. Also, this is a chance for them to beautifully present their creativity on paper. Being a part of this kind of contest boosts the morale of the child and helps them become self-confident. You should give a push for participation.

The FAI is a part of the World Air Sports Federation. The Executive Board is the body of the FAI, that implements the policies and decisions of the General Conference and exercises the powers of the General Conference that are delegated to it by that body. Who is Eligible?

The FAI Young Artist Contest is inviting youngsters between age six and seventeen years to participate. The contest will be held under three categories mentioned below:

  • Group I – Junior Category (Date of birth between 1 January 2012 and 31 December 2015).
  • Group II – Intermediate Category (Date of birth between 1 January 2008 and 31 December 2011).
  • Group III – Senior Category (Date of birth between 1 January 2004 and 31 December 2007).

How to Apply?

To participate, the Contestants have to choose their favourite pens, paints, or crayons and share their vision of the perfect aircraft in the hopes that their design might become an inspiration for tomorrow’s aviation reality.

The theme of the contest is to Design your own aircraft. The contest aims to inspire youngsters with the ‘behind the scenes’ work of the aviation industry specialists. The brief asks you to consider ‘What is your perfect aircraft? What would power it through the sky? Would it be big or small? What special features would make pilots and passengers excited to be in the air?’ and reminds the contestants that every craft they see in the sky today started with similar questions.
