Who is Eligible?
To be eligible for the Equitable Excellence® Scholarship Program, applicants must:
- Be current high school seniors in one of the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico.
- Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.
- Demonstrate ambition and self-drive to make a positive impact in school, community, or work activities.
- Be willing to provide a release to publicize their identities and information, including photographs, for program promotion and information.
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Note: Employees, associates, financial professionals, or immediate family members of Equitable, Equitable Advisors, and all equitable affiliated companies, as well as Scholarship America and its affiliates, subsidiaries, or advertising and promotion agencies, are not eligible to apply.
How to Apply?
To apply for the Equitable Excellence® Scholarship Program, interested candidates can follow these steps:
- Visit the Scholarship America Student Hub by selecting the “Apply Now” button.
- Ensure equitableexcellence@scholarshipamerica.org is set as a safe sender in your email contact list.
- Use a personal email address (not a high school email address) when registering for the Scholarship America Hub.
- Complete the application process as guided by the Scholarship America platform.
Benefits
Selected recipients of the Equitable Excellence® Scholarship Program will receive financial support to assist with their education expenses at a two- or four-year college or university in the United States. The authorized distribution for new awards is up to $750,000. Up to 100 renewable awards of $5,000 each and up to 100 one-time awards of $2,500 each will be granted as follows:
- Top 100 applicants – $5,000 awards are renewable up to four years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance and continued enrollment, and
- Next 100 applicants – $2,500 one-time awards are not renewable.
- $500 gift card will be provided to each recipients’ teacher of choice who has had an impact on them.
- Awards are for undergraduate study only. Enrollment at an accredited postsecondary institution outside of the United States may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
