A new study states that China is keen to touch a mark of 500000 international students by 2020.
By the end of 2016, China had already crossed the mark of 400000 international students thanks to a rise in foreign enrollments since 2011, stated by a report by the Institute of International Education, a US-based education institute.
If the numbers continue to grow at this rate, China will be hitting the mark of 500000 international students by 2020, which is almost half the number of US international students of 1.08 million making it the world’s most preferred educational destination for students across the globe, indicated by a report based on the data provided by the Chinese Scholarship Council.
The number of international students is expected to increase even at a faster rate due to a new education initiative taken by China called “One Belt, One Road” officially launched in June 2017.
This program is said to improve the connections between the Universities in China with the Universities in other countries like Vietnam, Singapore, Russia, Turkey and other European Countries.
The main purpose of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative is to develop skills and cultivate talent in students. It also aims at strengthening the bond between colleges and business corporations which will help to increase the job opportunities for students.
