The American Legion Department of New Hampshire is feeling honored and much glad to announce that they are accepting applications now for the 2022-2023 academic year for the Department of NH Scholarship. The foundation knows and understands the struggle of students who are not from financially well-off backgrounds to acquire education. Many are forced to drop out of their schools and join part-time jobs to earn their livelihood, which is quite heartbreaking.
Therefore, to prevent that, the organization is providing scholarships to the students from New Hampshire to come forward and participate in this grant to win a chance to receive an on-time scholarship amount of $2,000. The following grant is for candidates entering the first year of a four (4) year college or university, prompting a Bachelors’s certificate and having been an inhabitant of New Hampshire somewhere around three (3) years. The honor amount of this grant is $2,000, which will be given to the most fortunate and meriting applicant. The last date to enter the scholarship program is May 1 of every year.

Who is Eligible?
Candidates will have to meet the following criteria:
- The scholarship is open for applicant entering the first year of a four (4) year college or university leading to a Bachelors’s degree and who has been a resident of New Hampshire for at least three (3) years.

Supporting Documents
Following are the documents that need to be attached with your application form:
- Evidence of acceptance to an accredited four (4) year college or university leading to a Bachelors’s Degree.
- A brief narrative of explanation of intended vocation to be pursued.
- A resume includes such information as educational background, all school, and outside activities, and other information you feel is essential.
- A transcript of high school grades for Junior and Senior years, showing at least a “B” average.
- At least two (2) letters of endorsement (i.e., Teachers, Principal, or other prominent members of your community).
Benefits
The award amount of this scholarship is $2,000, which will be given to the luckiest and deserving candidate. The winner can put this money toward paying their college fee and other expenses they could not meet because of the lack of money. This scholarship money is limited to be used to cover only study-related expenses, including fees, books, accommodation, and transportation, etc.
