The students or the family members of fellows who are a member or related to SMACNA are lucky! Because SMACNA is introducing its authentic College of Fellows scholarship program for its member. The SMACNA College of Fellows Scholarship Program is open to students from the SMACNA extended family seeking to further their undergraduate education by attending an accredited four-year college or university. The applicant may pursue any course of study; however, it is hoped that a career in a field related to the sheet metal industry will be considered.
The Primary Goal of the COF Scholarship Foundation is to provide scholarships to SMACNA member contractors, employees of SMACNA member contractors, SMACNA chapter executives, National SMACNA employees, SMACNA Associate Members, and members of the families of all of these groups. The Secondary Goal is to create a sense of community and support among the elements of the SMACNA extended family by working toward a common goal furthering the education of individual members of the family.
The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) is an international trade association representing 1,834 member firms in 97 chapters throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, and Brazil. A leader in promoting quality and excellence in the sheet metal and air conditioning industry, SMACNA has offices in Chantilly, VA., which is outside of Washington, D.C., and on Capitol Hill. SMACNA members perform work in industrial, commercial, institutional, and residential markets. - Eligibility extends to SMACNA’s extended family, which includes SMACNA contractors, employees of SMACNA contractors, SMACNA Fellows, employees of local SMACNA chapters, employees of National SMACNA, SMACNA National Associate Members, and members of the families of any of these groups.

- Fellows should have a good academic standing.
How to Apply
Fellows who are eligible can apply after downloading the scholarship application from the website. Once you have entered your information in the electronic form, print out a copy and submit it and all supporting documentation to the SMACNA College of Fellows Scholarship Program. Applications must be postmarked or with email transmission date to SMACNA College of Fellows Scholarship Program, 4201 Lafayette Center Drive, Chantilly, VA 20151-1219; email: cof_scholarship@smacna.org. Only typed or electronically generated applications will be accepted for consideration. Applications missing required supporting documentation will be rejected. Late applications will not be considered for the program.
Supporting Documents
- An essay on the applicant’s goals, explaining how the applicant hopes to achieve the goals and why he/she would like to acquire the COF Scholarship.
- High School transcripts [if already an undergraduate, high school transcript plus college transcripts].
- Three [3] letters of recommendation from community leaders [city council member, minister, school board member, local governmental official, etc.]. Letters not accompanying the application should be sent to the address above and clearly indicate the name of the applicant supported.
- College aptitude scores are needed.
- Indication of acceptance at an accredited four-year university or college (two-year for SMACNA Sacramento Jr. College Endowed Scholarship). If not available, submit it when it becomes available.
Benefits
The selected students enjoy immense benefits. College of Fellows Scholarships will be in the amount of $4,000 per academic year not to exceed $16,000 for four years of undergraduate study. Candidates are supported through every possible way, and the program is set to reduce their financial burden. The amount should be utilized to pay the educational expenses of the students and makes them easy in the university or college they have enrolled in.
