The College Fund of Pinellas County receiving applications for its grant program for the year 2020. The U.S. students who are high school graduate or former college students with also a permanent home address in Pinellas are eligible to apply.
The grants are designed to support passionate scholars in their further educational journey. The beneficiary will be provided with sufficient funds to pay for their relevant expenses such as tuition, course fee, books, and many others.
The College Fund of Pinellas County works as a non-profit, tax-exempt organization run entirely by volunteers. They raise money to financially help disadvantaged Pinellas County residents who have excellent academic potential, but insufficient funds to obtain a bachelor’s degree.
Who May Eligible?
To eligible for the program, the candidates must be reviewing the eligibility criteria:
- Must be a U.S. citizen with a permanent home address in Pinellas
- County,
- Must be a high school graduate with a grade point average of at
- least 3.00, or
- Must be a current or former college student who has demonstrated the ability to complete at least 12 hours in a single term (semester, quarter, etc.) in courses credited toward graduation and with a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.
- Must be a full time (i.e., taking or planning to take a minimum of 12 hours credit toward graduation* which cannot include remedial courses**) undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a regionally accredited (e.g., Southern Association of Colleges & Schools)college or university, and
- Must be a recipient of a Pell Grant.

Applicants who meet the preceding requirements and wish to apply for the scholarship may print out and complete the application form and mail it with the required attachments indicated on the way to The College Fund of Pinellas County, Inc P.O. Box 7425 Seminole, FL 33775.

- High school or college transcript (through spring term)
- Financial aid notice from your chosen college showing the grants and scholarships awarded to you (Pell, Bright Futures, etc.)
- A one-page essay telling us about yourself and your career and life goals
Benefits
The deserving winner will get to receive grants of $1,000 per school year ($500 per semester) until the student gets a maximum of $4,000 or graduates with a bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first.

Applications are open to apply until the 32 interview slots are filled or July 17, 2020, whichever comes first.
