Cleveland Brown’s Foundation in partnership with College Now Greater Cleveland presents a Marion Motley Scholarship to help the local high school students pursue their dream of acquiring higher education. The Cleveland brown foundation believes that gaining education is the right of all and through this scholarship award they are trying to make that happen. They are doing their best to provide free access to education to students who are from poor financial backgrounds and can not afford to go to college.
Through the following scholarship program, the celevland browns foundation will choose two deserving candidates who are about to graduate from high school in 2022 and award them with a four-year, renewable scholarship amount of $2,500 per year. The applicants must be planning to major in study areas that lead to a career in education or for a professional sports organization. Additionally, this scholarship is merit as well as need-based scholarship. Therefore, you must prove your financial need in order to win this scholarship award.

Their aim is to identify opportunities, remove barriers and provide every kind of assistance for student empowerment. Who is Eligible?
Following are the eligibility requirements that need to be satisfied for participating in the following scholarship contest:
- The applicant must be enrolled in a high school situated in Northeast Ohio.
- The applicant must be about to graduate at the end of the 2021-2022 academic year
- The applicant must be planning to enrol in a two-year or four-year college program in the academic year 2022-2023.
- The applicant must have a minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA through junior year in high school.
- The applicant must have 18 ACT or 960 SAT (highest math and highest verbal)
- The applicant must meet the College Now income guidelines as follows:
Students with family AGIs more than the listed amounts will not be considered for the scholarship.
How to Apply?
The interested individuals are required to fill out the application form provided on the scholarship portal and submit it. Additionally, the candidate is required to pen down two different essays of around 250-500 words on the following topics:
- Why do you want to go to college? What motivates you? How do you plan to contribute to society after graduation? In other words, “what makes you tick?”
- Would you please describe an experience in which you have had to overcome adversity in your life that gives you appreciation for what Marion Motley achieved?
Supporting Documents
Following documents are needed to be attached with your application:
- Copy of high school transcript showing cumulative GPA through the end of junior year
- Copy of SAT or ACT scores (Only test scores through September 2021 will be accepted)
- Extracurricular resume or list of activities
- A letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counsellor who knows you well must be provided.
Benefits
The final recipients will be asked to attend the Cleveland Browns game’s December 18, 2021, and participate in a presentation/announcement event. The decided winner will be announced there and awarded with the amount of $2500.
Application Deadline
The deadline for application submission for the following scholarship is August 31, 2021. No applications will be considered after the deadline.
