Clean Stream Champion is organizing a coloring contest for the kids of New Castle County. All children below 18 years of age are eligible to participate. For participation, the kids have to submit a drawing, photograph, painting, or photoshop relating to the 5 topics of the contest. The contest will be held under two categories, i.e Coloring and freehand. Children can participate in any one of the two categories. Only one entry is allowed per person. The contest aims to help children practice their artistic skills, and learn some everyday environmental science. The last day to submit your work is June 11, 2021. No entries after the deadline will be entertained.
The contest is an opportunity for your child to showcase their creativity and imagination. It will help your child gain new perspectives towards nature. Each participant under the coloring category will receive $50 gift cards and Participants under the freehand category will receive amazon.com gift cards of different denominations. It is a chance to show how you feel towards your environment and gain ideas about how to preserve it and reduce wastage. You should definitely encourage your child to participate. Best Wishes!
Clean Stream Champion aims to motivate individuals to pledge towards making the County’s waterways clean and decrease pollution. Many of New Castle County’s waterways are polluted at much of it comes from household wastes. Therefore, it is an initiative to conserve the water bodies for generations to come.

Who is eligible
All the children below the age of 18 years, living in New Castle County are eligible to take part in the Clean Stream Champion Coloring Contest 2021. The contest will be held under 2 categories:
- Coloring: A colorful line art drawing. Each entry will be submitted into sweepstakes drawing for one of 35 amazon.com gift cards valued at $50 each.
- Freehand: Submit any original static artwork (photograph, drawing, painting or photoshop). New Castle County Department of Public Works staff will judge the piece.
How to apply
This contest is an educational opportunity for the kids to practice their artistic skills, learn some everyday environmental science, and win some cool prizes. You can submit art that shows any one of the five habits that help keep the county waterways clean. The topics are:
- Scoop the poop
- Garden for water and life
- Only rain down the drain
- Reduce household chemicals
- Cease the Grease.
