Who is Eligible?
The Clare Boothe Luce (CBL) Undergraduate Scholarship Program is open to highly qualified full-time female U.S. citizens or permanent residents graduating in 2022 with majors in disciplines with historically low female participation: Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer & Information Science, Environmental Science, Integrative Neuroscience, Mathematics, Natural Science, Physics, or Engineering Physics. Applicants must not intend to pursue further education in the medical sciences.
How to Apply?
The application requires basic personal information, a brief explanation of post-graduation plans, two letters of recommendation from Fordham faculty members, a CV or resume, and a personal essay/narrative. Additionally, applicants must commit to continuing in their major, initiating research with a faculty mentor in the fall of the award year, providing progress reports, and reporting on research outcomes and efforts to encourage women in the sciences.

Benefits
The scholarship program offers 9-month academic-year awards, typically awarded at the end of sophomore year for the following fall semester. It covers tuition charges not covered by other scholarships or awards for full-time study during the academic year. Successful applicants may also apply for up to a $1,000 professional development fund for equipment, travel, or research, with reimbursement handled by Fordham. The award is renewable for an additional academic year, contingent on maintaining a GPA of at least 3.0.
