Clairvoyants International Competition 2018

Dwa Siostry Publishing House is thrilled to announce the third edition of the International Competition for an illustrated children’s book project Clairvoyants 2018. This competition is open to newcomers and experienced artists and children’s books authors from Poland and abroad.

The competition shall target mainly book designers, graphic artists, illustrators, visual artists and students of art academies, as well as scriptwriters an author. Its aim is to launch the process of creating beautiful and valuable books for children and to discover talented artists and give them chance to become known on the Polish and international book market.

‘CLAIRVOYANTS 2018’ has been recognized by the PolishMinistry of Culture and National Heritage and received the financial support from their ‘Visual Arts Grant Program’.

Who May Eligible:

To eligible, the candidates must be following all the eligibility criteria:

  • The competition is open to both newcomers and experienced artists and children’s books authors from Poland and abroad, participating individually or in a team.
  • Participants need to be at least 18 years old.

How to Apply & Competitions Rules:

Rules:

  • There is no limitation as to the number of submitted projects. One author can submit several works, both individually and/or as a part of a team.
  • The competition shall not be open to the staff of the Organizer and prize sponsors or to any individuals who cooperate in the organization and running of the Competition, or to the family members of individuals.
  • The purpose of the competition is to prepare a project (draft) of an illustrated children’s book in Polish or in the English
  • Submitted works should include a script or a storyboard of the whole book, together with 3 finished double spreads and the cover.
  • Submitted works shall include the following items:
    • A script of an integral book – maximum 3 standard pages (5,400 characters, including spaces) accompanied by a summary in English + 3 examples of double spreads (maximum format of a double spread: A-2) + cover.
    • The storyboard of the whole book – maximum 24 pages (maximum format of a page: A-3) accompanied by a summary in English + 3 examples of double spreads (maximum format of a double spread: A-2) + cover.
    • Additionally, participants shall include a CD or a DVD with the competing work (text format: doc, docx or rtf; graphics in the format: tiff or PSD, 300 dpi, CMYK).

Benefits:

Competitors may be awarded three different prizes:

  • The main prize of EUR 2,500 and two honorable mentions – by the international jury
  • Book publication – by the Dwie Siostry Publishing House jury
  • Admission in the post-competition exhibition.

Application Deadline:

Works should be submitted between November 15, 2018, to December 15, 2018. Competition results will be announced on this website on 1st of April 2019.
