The Children’s Cancer Connection has declared a scholarship program for those students who are attending a recognized post-secondary institution such as trade school, college, or university. The student who is directly affected by cancer or their sibling is affected, then they can apply for this scholarship program. The applicant must confirm that they come under the Children’s Cancer Connection service area and are living, treated, or diagnosed in the state of Iowa. This scholarship will provide an opportunity for such students who want to pursue their higher education. Applicants have to write two different essays on two different topics provided on the application form.
The applicants will be selected based on their application and essays they have written on how has their family background affected the way they see the world? And one another, the selected applicant will receive a scholarship amount which will be directly sent to their institution listed in the application; the amount will be given in two installments, i.e., half for the fall semester and a half for the spring semester. The amount will be completely utilized for their educational requirements, which will ease their journey to pursue their education.
The Children’s Cancer Connection was founded in the year 1988 and is a non-profit organization that works on the purpose of supporting families in Iowa that a pediatric cancer diagnosis has impacted. Their mission is to connect families affected by childhood cancer by providing opportunities that encourage relationships and strengthen the community.

Who is Eligible?
Applicant must:
- Be directly affected by childhood cancer includes individuals who currently have or have had cancer before age 18 or a sibling of that individual
- Be within the Children’s Cancer Connection service area (living, treated, or diagnosed in the state of Iowa)
- Attend a recognized post-secondary institution

How to Apply?
The eligible applicants who want to apply for this scholarship should fill out the application form entirely and write two letters on how has their family background affected the way they see the world? And what trails do they possess that will enhance their education or future career? And what are their academic and/or career goals, both the essay’s must be written in a minimum of 500 words each. With this, the applicant must attach two letters of recommendation from school, medical or business professionals, dated no more than six months before the submission of the application.
