Charlotte Hungerford Hospital (CHH) Auxiliary is awarding ten $1,000 scholarships to local students interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. The Dr Alfred Fabro Scholarship, the Dr Joseph Curi Scholarship, Dr Beth Whalen, and Dr Terrance Ryan Scholarship for students/graduates from Torrington High School and/or Oliver Wolcott High School will also be presented.
When applying for a scholarship, applicants must intend to enrol in a college or institution of higher education to pursue a healthcare degree; admittance into a licensed health care educational program for the 2022-23 academic year must be verified before the scholarship is awarded. Applicants must live in a Charlotte Hungerford Hospital-served neighbourhood. Applications are also accessible online through the Guidance Departments of area universities and high schools. All completed applications must be printed and mailed by the deadline of February 28, 2022. Ellen Dustin, 102 Tanglewood Road, New Hartford, CT 06057, should receive completed applications. By the first week of May, all candidates will get a letter informing them of their status.

Hungerford, an entrepreneur, donated the hospital in 1916 as a memorial to his mother, Charlotte, who was known for her unbounded energy and passion for assisting others.
