The City of Sacramento has decided to conduct an Art Contest for the students aged 14-24; the contest is based on Carbon-zero. The students who will participate in this contest will have to make their own carbon-zero artwork which will describe the importance of a green environment and how important it is for the betterment of our future. The climate changes and steps needed to preserve and protect Sacramento can be pictured in their artwork. The contest prizes are given by collaboration of Office of Mayor Darrell Steinberg, the city of Sacramento’s office of Climate action and sustainability, and SMUD.
The contestants who will participate in this contest will be selected for prizes on the basis of their artwork and how well it conveys the message to people through their skills and creativity. The awards will be given as 1st place 2ndand six honorable mentions, and the prize amount will be $500, $100, and for others, it is $50. This will help students in knowing Sacramento’s environment and climate and how they get affected, and how they can be prevented. Also, the gift prizes will excite the students to participate and do their level best.

The contestants who are fascinated by this art contest and want to apply for the same, the participants should make their artwork which will highlight how necessary it is to take climate action in Sacramento and/or also define the importance of a carbon zero and sustainable future. The contest can picture any still image or an art piece through hand drawings, paintings, graphic designs, and photographs, but students can use other methods too. While filling the form, students must fill in proper details, and those who are under 17 years, must submit written permission from their parent or guardian to participate in the contest, receive a cash prize, and if they get selected, permit to intellectual rights agreement. Benefits
The participants who will be a part of this contest if they get selected for prizes such as 1st place, 2nd place, and six honorable mentions will be granted the amount of $500, $100, and $50 each, respectively. The selection will be done in three age categories differentiated as 14-15, 16-18, 19-24. The contest will let people aware of the climate issues and how important it is to take actions in order to make it better; otherwise, it will get affected on the environment and related natural resources. The little efforts made by the students can impact people to take quick action. Students will get motivated and encouraged to draw and picture a meaningful message to everyone living in Sacramento, as well as they will get appreciated for their work which will motivate them to do even better and bring out their skills.
Application Deadline
The contestants who are interested in this contest and want to take part and show up their skills should fill the application form and submit their entries no later than February 24, 2022. Late entries are not acceptable and will get disqualified from the contest.
