California Freethought Day High School $1000 Scholarship

This year, California Freethought Day has completed its 20 years of service and is offering an amazing scholarship to celebrate the same. On its 20th anniversary, this organization intends to reflect upon its values and is giving students a chance to join them in this reflection through this scholarship program. As a part of this program, candidates will need to compose an engaging essay answering the following question: How can science, activism, social justice, secularism, or free thought give you a brighter future? This scholarship program is exclusively available for California high school students who are involved in, or leaders of, community organizations or school clubs. So if you hold a genuine interest in free speech, science, and the separation of church and state, this is the right opportunity for you to express what you think about the same, show your talent, and get financial support from the organization.

You will be selected based on the originality, creativity, and quality of the submitted essay by members of the California Freethought Day Scholarship Committee. Preference will be given to students who have shown involvement and leadership in community organizations or school clubs. So let the organization know what you think about science, activism, social justice, secularism, or free thought and how it can make a positive impact on one’s life. If you win, then you will be granted a $1,000 in scholarship to support your education. The winner will be notified about his/her application status and result by the end of September. Apart from giving financial support through scholarship, the organization will invite the winner and their family (but not required) to attend the Fundraising Reception and California Freethought Day in October. Both events will be held in Sacramento. Please send your application today to get a chance to win $1000.

With the core mission of hosting an annual festival to inspire the freedom of speech and thought, civic engagement, enthusiasm for science, social justice, and the separation of church and state, California Freethought Day has been working for two decades and have made a positive impact on the society through its work.
