California Cattlemen’s Association Scholarships

California Cattlemen’s Association is welcoming high school graduates to take advantage of their Scholarship programs. There are several grants available for the various high school graduates, undergraduates, and even for students interested in pursuing a career in agriculture-related courses.

These awards will let students support their higher education and also to do better in their careers and achieve their dreams. The selected scholars of the grants will be able to cope up with their educational expenses such as tuition, fees, books, etc.

The California Cattlemen’s Association was established in 1917. It is a non-profit trade association representing California’s ranchers and beef producers in regulatory and legislative matters. Scholarships for students started to involve more students in agriculture courses and help them with their college expenses.

Who May Be Eligible?

Check the below-given eligibility norms to qualify for the grant:

  • The applicant must be U.S. Citizen or permanent resident. International students are not eligible for this scholarship.
  • Candidate must be a member of the California Cattlemen’s Association. If you’re not a member of the association, apply for membership before applying for a scholarship.
  • Students should be enrolled in accredited junior college, university, or law school to be eligible for this scholarship.
  • Candidate must currently be an undergraduate, master, school of law, or a veterinary student enrolled in a four-year course.
  • Students must have passed from California High School, or applicants must currently attending California College.
  • The applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a scale of 4.0.
  • Candidate must have registered in primary cattle production, genetics, nutrition, trade, law, agricultural communications, agricultural education, marketing, lending, policy, etc.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted online as paper-based forms are not available. Students are asked to download and then complete and submit their applications through email to Katie Roberti at katier@calcattlemen.org. Application and other required documents must be submitted in PDF format.

Candidates must be available for telephone or in-person interviews on December 2, 2020, in Reno, Nevada. Applicants can interview in person, but if applicants cannot travel, they can interview through telephone.

Incomplete applications and incomplete documents will not be reviewed or considered for the scholarship.

Supporting Documents

  • Applicant must submit their U.S. citizen or permanent residency proof with the application form.
  • Candidate must attach proof of graduating from California high school or evidence of attending California College.
  • Applicants have to submit an acceptance letter from an accredited College or University in California.
  • A transcript must be attached to the application. This transcript must have details about the course applicant’s enrolled in and the major taken by the applicant.
  • Submit previous years or recent GPA scorecard with the application.
  • The applicant must submit a 1,000 words statement. The statement should include the purpose, career goals, applicant’s extra activities, leadership qualities, and personal interests.
  • Two letters of recommendation must be attached with the application. One letter must be from the applicant’s current school’s faculty members and others from another person who knows the applicant’s academic performance. Letters from family members or friends will not be accepted.

Benefits

California Cattlemen’s Association awards more than $50,000 in the form of scholarships. There are many scholarships available, and these scholarships have different prize awards. These amounts are utilized to pay the educational expenses of students.

Applications must be submitted by October 1, 2020, before 11:59 pm PST.
