The Missouri Higher Education and Workforce Development MHDWD are proudly announcing the Bright Flight Scholarship Program. This program is for the top-ranked high school seniors planning to attend approved Missouri post-secondary school. Bright Flight Scholarship Program is a merit-based program that encourages Missouri residents and the United States citizen or permanent high school seniors to enjoy valuable education from the University.
This scholarship helps bright students with educational expenses for post-secondary education. This scholarship is initiated to support the financially low students, it makes sure that even the economically unstable or the deserving students should get all the appreciation and encouragement to do better in their respective majors.

Who May Be Eligible?
Applicants should meet the following eligibility requirements for the Bright Flight Scholarship Program:
- Applicants should be a Missouri resident and a United States citizen or permanent resident.
- Individuals must have a composite score in the ACT or SAT exam. Applicant must be in the top 3 percent of all the Missouri students taking tests or in the tip 4th or 5th percent of all the Missouri Students taking tests.
- The applicant must be enrolled as a first-time student in the post-secondary school.
- A student must enroll full time at a participating Missouri school.
- The applicant should not be pursuing a degree or certificate in theology or divinity.
How to Apply
Applicants don’t have to submit any separate application for the Program. The Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development will receive an ACT or SAT composite score with all the approved Missouri colleges or the University of the applicant’s choice. It takes approximately six to eight weeks after each national test date for the MDHEWD to receive assessment information.

Benefits
Benefits of the Bright Flight Scholarship Program are different based on the ACT or SAT composite score. Applicants with ACT score 31 or higher or SAT Math score 800 and SAT Critical Reading Score 780 or higher will receive a scholarship fund of $3,000. Applicants with an ACT score of 30 or SAT Math Score of 790-799 and SAT Critical Reading Score 770-779 will receive a scholarship fund of $1,000.
