BraunPrize International Design Competition 2021

Braun is organizing a competition where you are required to submit innovative product designs and concepts that will help promote behavioral change and make an impact on today’s society as well as the future of the planet. There are two categories of participation. One is for the students who are recent graduates or currently pursuing their studies. The other category is for the Young Creatives who are designers and inventors, graduated in the past five years. For participating, you are required to submit a creative product concept or design that is new to the market and can bring a sustainable change to the planet. The last date to submit your entries is August 31, 2021.

Necessity is the mother of invention. With the coming of the pandemic, we have learned a lot about what we were lacking behind and a huge range of innovative ideas has been introduced in the market. This competition is about the same. It will provide you with the platform to present your ideas and help them turn into reality. Participating in the competition can help you learn new techniques and get a huge range of exposure. Also, if the jury likes your idea, you will get amazing prizes which can motivate you to enhance your knowledge reserves further and to work on a better future for yourself.  

Braun was started as a small engineering shop in the 1920s and by the 1960s became an internationally famous brand for small electrical appliances. The products of the company have evolved in terms of both appearance and technology. The core values of the brand including functionality, quality, and aesthetics are still as relevant today as they were in the 50s.

Who is Eligible?

The eligibility criteria to participate in the competition is as follows:

  1. Category
  2. Students: The product concept submissions should be fromthe students who are still studying or recent graduates which were created during the time of study.
  3. Young Creatives: The product concept submissions should be from young designers and inventors who have graduated withing past 5 years.
  4. Theme: The theme of the competition is Shape Tomorrow.
  5. Language: The submissions should be in English.

How to Apply?

For participating in the contest, follow the stated guidelines:

  • The entries should necessarily be a product design and/or product interaction concepts that are new to the market or in production.
  • Software, interaction, or media design will be considered as an important part of an overall product concept.
  • Multiple projects are allowed for submissions per person.
  • Submit your designs here.
