Bowie Hockey Club is happily introducing thee scholarships for 2020-21; Rita and James Holding Memorial scholarship, Joe Loschiavo Memorial Scholarship, Kifford Snowden Memorial Grant Scholarship through the generous funding by the children of Rita and James Holding. Students of any gender and age who are registered Travel or Recreational hockey players at the Bowie Hockey Club are invited to apply for these excellent programs.
After the death of Rita, James Holding funded scholarships for Bowie Hockey Players in her name. These scholarships provide a number of BHC players the opportunity to play the sport they love. The awards are now funded and practice by the family in the memory of these leaders. The scholarship maintains and encourages the students to do better in hockey and embraces their passion for hockey to motivates them to keep going.
Bowie Hockey Club was established in 1971, is providing quality hockey instruction for nearly 50 years. The club offers a wide range of programs from instructional hockey for the very beginner to competitive travel teams. The team competes in the CCHL, and travel teams play in the CBHL. The club runs a spring hockey program to keep skills sharp for tryouts.
Who May Be Eligible?
The eligibility requirements of all the three scholarships are the same; please go through the below-given requirements before applying.
- Applicant must be a Recreational or Travel hockey player at the Bowie Hockey Club
- Candidate must submit an essay demonstrating the financial need in addition to providing details regarding their experience as an exemplary team leader and outstanding sportsman
- The applicant of any age and gender can apply
How to Apply
The application process for the scholarships is simple and straight forward. Candidates need to provide all the details, and the supporting documents need to proceed with the application for the program. No late or invalid information will be entertained. All the applicants should apply before the deadline late applications will not be considered. Candidates can apply for the three scholarships through respective forms:

The Joseph Loschiavo Memorial Scholarship

Winning applicants will receive the funding amount of $500 to help them make their career brighter through some financial needs. The program encourages candidates to do and grow in their hockey career and follow their passion.
