Applicants who are interested in music are eligible to take advantage of the “BMI Future Jazz Master Scholarship” organized by the BMI Foundation.
The BMI Future Jazz Master Scholarship is an annual competition open to rising jazz stars enrolled at colleges and universities nationwide.
The BMI is a nonprofit foundation founded in 1985; it supports the creation, performance, and study of music through awards, scholarships, grants, and commissions.

Who May Eligible
- Applicant must be a citizen of a country in the Western Hemisphere.
- Candidates must be engaged in the study of music with a recognized and established teacher (other than a relative).
- Applicants must be age 27 or younger, as of the competition deadline.
How to Apply
- All participants need to complete an online application form.
- Applicants are required to submit the following:
- Three recordings (MP3 or MP4a files) of recent performances. At least one of these performed works must be original. There are no limitations as to age, style, instrumentation, or voice.
- Tracklisting that includes title, composer, and performance information for each submitted recording.
Benefits
$5,000 award will be available for successful competitors.
