An Art Contest is being held by Nebraska and sponsored by Vaughn and Associates; this contest is being conducted to celebrate Black History Month; this contest is the 10th annual contest which is organized for students of Nebraska who are studying from kindergarten to 12th grade. This year’s theme has been set to Black Health and Wellness; students are welcomed to create any piece of original art, may it be a portrait or a poster of a person or event that commemorates Black History. Students will get an opportunity to showcase their artwork using pencils, crayons, coal, markers, paint, clay; students can even write a poem or short story, play or movie, etc… Also, they can use any medium to express their artistic ability.
All participants will get awarded on the basis of their artwork and how expressing their artwork is; all participants will be selected from individual categories divided as Elementary school, Middle school, and high school. Winners will receive some exciting prizes. This contest will motivate students to express their talent and bring out their thoughts and creativity. Also, gift prizes will encourage them to do their work better.
Black history month has been celebrated for over ten years; and is the annual observance of originality in the United States. It is also known as African-American History Month. This contest is organized to cheer up students and let them know the contributions of African-Americans. Also, to picture the student’s thoughts and creativity. Every year they organize some art contests to celebrate their contributions with different themes.

How to Apply?
Participants who are interested in this contest should complete the submission slip providing all their details, including their name, address, and other details. All artwork must be submitted to their homeroom, art, or social studies Teacher or should be directly submitted to :

Students must read all rules and guidelines listed below.
1. Although the theme for Black History Month is Black Health and Wellness, students may create any piece of original art; it could be a portrait or poster of a person or event that commemorates Black History. You may use any materials you want, i.e., pencils, crayons, coal, markers, paint, clay, you can write a poem or short story, play or movie, etc.; you can use any medium in expressing your artistic ability.
2. Art must be your own original work (no tracing or computer-generated art is allowed).
3. Write your name and grade, your Teacher’s name, and your school’s name on the back or at the bottom of your art. Turn your artwork and the permission slip into your Homeroom, Art, or Social Studies Teacher, or turn your artwork into the Omaha Star located at 2216 N 24th Street, Omaha NE., before March 7, 2022.
4. Only one submission per student. Duplicate submissions will be disqualified.
5. Teachers/Parents make sure the art arrives at the Omaha Star by March 7, 2022. The Omaha Star is open Monday-Friday, 9 am-5:00 PM.
Benefits
All participants will get awarded on the basis of their artwork and how expressing their artwork is; all participants will be selected from individual categories divided as Elementary school, Middle school, and high school. Winners will receive some exciting prizes. This contest will motivate students to express their talent and bring out their thoughts and creativity. Also, gift prizes will encourage them to do their work better. Their artwork may also be displayed for different promotional purposes. This contest will be beneficial to all the participants entering this contest as this is an art contest.
Application Deadline
All participants should submit their artwork with the submission slip no later than March 7, 2022. Delayed submissions for this contest will not be considered eligible.
