The program is inviting the U.S citizens who are a high school senior or current college freshman, sophomore or junior. The applicants also need to be attending an accredited 4-year college or university to apply for the grant.
ESPN is an American basic cable sports channel established in 1979 and owned by ESPN Inc. It is owned jointly by The Walt Disney Company and Hearst Communications.

Who May Eligible?
To participate in the program, the candidates must be following the criteria:
- Must be S. Citizens, U.S. national or permanent residents
- Must demonstrate financial need as verified by their college or university, if being considered for a scholarship
- Must include a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale, if being considered for a scholarship
- Must be under 25 years of age
- For academic scholarships, students must be raising High School Seniors or current College Freshmen, College Sophomores, College Juniors attending an accredited 4-year college or university.
- For a donation to an eligible nonprofit, student can be High School Freshmen, sophomores, juniors or Seniors or current College Freshmen, College Sophomores, College Juniors, College Seniors.
- Selected individuals must be able to attend the event in Beverly Hills on Saturday, July 18, 2020
