Whether you or your child is learning to swim or wants to refine established strokes, UC-Berkeley have the right class for you! Rec Sports offers four pools for an open recreational swim for all members. The Rec Sports Aquatics program includes Open Recreation Swimming and the Cal Aquatic Master’s Program. Choose from four pools available to help you meet your fitness and recreational goals. The Cal Aquatic Masters swim team is a registered club with U.S. Masters Swimming. The program is open to all adult swimmers who are dedicated to improving their fitness through swimming.

University of Alabama, Alabama

At the University Recreation’s Bama Swim School, a year-round instructional swim program open to full-time UA students and current University Recreation Members.  Swim Lesson participants must be current members of the Student Recreation Center and/or Aquatic Center. They offer a pre-swim development class for preschoolers 3-5 years old and swim lessons for youth age 6 years old through adults. Bama Swim School offers private and semi-private lessons for ages 3 years through adult.

University of Southern California, Southern California

The Physical Education program at USC provides a variety of opportunities for students to improve their general health and fitness through fitness related and recreational activities classes. Courses are designed to introduce students to various aspects of health and physical education principles. With this exposure, knowledge, and skill, students are better equipped to make choices regarding a healthy and active lifestyle. Fitness classes focus primarily on the development of muscle strength, muscle endurance, cardiorespiratory endurance, flexibility, general wellness principles, and nutritional guidelines. Stanford University, Stanford

Stanford Campus Recreation Association (SCRA) was founded in 1962 by a group of Stanford faculty and staff who wished to develop community swim and tennis facilities, with the goals of fostering high standards of sportsmanship and promoting fellowship among faculty and senior staff. As part of the University under the management of the Department of Athletics Physical Education and Recreation (DAPER) is a member’s only club. At SCRA, the athletes, coaching staff and parents work together to create an environment where swimmers at every level can achieve their goals. University of Michigan, Michigan

The Michigan swimming program is one of the most highly respected college swimming programs in the country. The Michigan Wolverines swimming and diving program has both a men’s and women’s team. The University of Michigan Men’s Swimming program began in 1921 and has had nine coaches in its history. The University of Michigan Women’s Swimming program has been a varsity sport since 1974. The men’s and women’s teams, which had been coached separately, were combined in August 2012 by the Department under the leadership of head coach Mike Bottom.

University of Florida, Florida

The Florida Gators swimming and diving program represents the University of Florida in the aquatics sports of swimming and diving. The program includes separate men’s and women’s teams, both of which compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Gators host their home meets in the O’Connell Center Natatorium on the university’s Gainesville, Florida campus, and are currently led by head swimming Coach Gregg Troy and diving coach Bryan Gillooly.

University of Virginia, Virginia

Don’t be one of the many adults in Charlottesville who think it’s too late to learn to swim. UVA (University of Virginia) is the perfect place for swim lessons. The University of Virginia Aquatic and Fitness Center opened in 1996. The University’s commitment to health and wellness is clearly seen in the four recreation centers on grounds. The Virginia Cavaliers swimming and diving teams represent the University of Virginia in all National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Swimming and Diving Events. Youth swim lessons are also available at UVA. Recently, both the men’s and women’s teams have been successful in the Atlantic Coast Conference, each winning the past six ACC championships.
