Mrs Michelle Obama has said the truth, “When girls are educated, their countries become stronger and more prosperous.” The foundation of any society, culture, or background resides in the hand of the women of that society. If we educate a girl from a family, we educate the entire family! Education liberates us from the shackles of ignorance and captivity. It gives us hope and spreads our wings into the sky for betterment and peace. Be it teaching or trade, be it sales or medicine, be it dance or engineering. Women have taken the front seat in all the fields. And let us also be very grateful to the culture of equality and equal opportunities that came into light which did not only raise women’s employment level in general but also made them realize their own worth too. Here are more than 13.7 million widowed persons in the United States, over 11 million of these being women.
There are many scholarships and grants which are made every year to pay special attention to widow’s upliftment. Their representation in the country is applauded, which is very much needed because we all know, they were deprived of what men called basic in the early days. Scholarships for widows of various age groups are granted because everybody is considered, and the best efforts are put to make them shine. If we peep into our history books, we will see how higher education was designed for men in colonial America. But with the passage of time, women’s positions and opportunities in the educational domain have grown.
In this article, we have collected ten scholarships for widows in the U.S., which of course, have one main motive, and that is, ‘Encouraging and empowering women.’ So, let’s get started!
