Barnard College

Barnard College was founded as a response to Columbia’s refusal to admit women into their institution. Barnard offers Bachelor of Arts degree programs in about 50 areas of study. The Barnard curriculum enables students to develop strength in ways of knowing that incorporate but also transcend traditional academic disciplines. The six most popular majors at the college are English, psychology, political science, economics, history, and biology.

Wellesley College

Wellesley is home to 56 departmental and interdepartmental majors spanning the liberal arts, as well as over 150 student clubs and organizations. Wellesley is the highest endowed women’s college in the world.  Wellesley has a total of 56 departmental and interdepartmental majors as well as an option for an individual major designed by the student. Wellesley offers support to nontraditional-aged students through the Elisabeth Kaiser Davis Degree Program, open to students over the age of 24. Wellesley offers dual degree programs with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Olin College of Engineering, enabling students to receive a Bachelor of Science at those schools in addition to a Bachelor of Arts at Wellesley.

Bryn Mawr College

Bryn Mawr is one of the Seven Sister colleges and the Tri-College Consortium. The college has an enrollment of about 1,350 undergraduate students and 450 graduate students. Bryn Mawr is also known for being the first women’s college to offer graduate education through a Ph.D. Bryn Mawr is a small, four year, residential baccalaureate college. The college granted 331 bachelor’s degrees, 106 master’s degrees, and 21 doctoral degrees. Mount Holyoke College is a liberal arts college for women, in South Hadley, United States. Mount Holyoke offers 50 departmental and interdepartmental majors, including the option to design a special major. Spelman College

Spelman College is America’s oldest private historically black liberal arts college for women. Spelman offers a Bachelor of Science degree in the following majors: Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Computer and Information Sciences, Dual Degree Engineering, Environmental Science, Mathematics, and Physics. Spelman offers a dual-degree nursing program at Emory University. Students that successfully complete the program will receive a bachelor’s degree from Spelman and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Emory in five or fewer years. Spelman is a highly selective institution annually offering admissions to between 30 to 40 percent of the 9,000+ applicants.
