The Department of Geography at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor Faculty position in Urban or Economic Geography. The Geography Department at Berkeley has been a leading center of scholarship about earth’s landscapes and human relationships to the environment. Dartmouth College houses the only Geography Department in the Ivy League. Students may earn a Bachelors of Arts degree in Geography. At this time no advanced degrees are offered. Some Geography faculty is adjunct in Departments in Ph.D.-granting programs, however, and Dartmouth College has a Masters of Liberal Arts degree in which students may write a thesis with a geography faculty supervisor. Departmental facilities are excellent and include sophisticated cartography and remote sensing laboratories, extensive computer facilities with mapping capabilities, a well-equipped tree-ring laboratory, and fully-equipped classrooms.

The Program in Geography offers three types of courses to students who seek knowledge about the physical earth and its various modes of human occupancy.
