American Legion Baseball Scholarship

The American Legion offers a number of scholarship applications for American Legion Baseball Scholarships are available. Any team manager or head coach of an American Legion (post–affiliated) team may nominate a player for a consideration of this award. Eight players selected by a scholarship selection committee at The American Legion World Series will receive an additional $2,500 scholarship. A ninth player, selected as the most outstanding member of the All-Academic Team, will be awarded an additional $5,000 scholarship. All-Academic Team winners will retain their $500 scholarship from their department.

Major League Baseball Players Association Michael Weiner Scholarship

The Major League Baseball Players Trust glad to offer you a Major League Baseball Players Association Michael Weiner Scholarship. Eligible candidates must have a demonstrated interest in and wish to make a career out of, working in the labor movement and on behalf of workers’ rights. The Players Trust awards up to five $10,000 scholarships annually as part of the scholarship program.

Babe Ruth League College Scholarships

Babe Ruth League Inc. is now offering a College Scholarship program to provide financial assistance to former Cal Ripken Baseball, Babe Ruth Baseball and Babe Ruth Softball players looking to further their education beyond high school. To eligible, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident who enrolled at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university. Award amount varies and the funds may be applied to tuition and/or books.

Mike Lozano Memorial Scholarship

The Amarillo Area Foundation is now offering the Mike Lozano Memorial Scholarship to a graduating high school senior athlete from the northernmost 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle. To eligible, the applicant must be interested in pursuing a degree in education and/or coaching for the purpose of teaching and coaching at the high school level upon graduation from college. The program will provide one scholarship of $2,500 annually.

Billy Smith Memorial Scholarships

The Community Foundation of Northern Illinois is proud to offer the Billy Smith Memorial Scholarships to provide educational resources for graduating high school baseball or softball players who intend to pursue a sports-related college degree. To eligible, the applicant must have played at least three years of baseball or softball in high school, including senior year and must major in a sports-related field in college. Most scholarship funds offer varying award amounts, most of which range from $500 to $2,500 depending on the size of the fund, the number of qualified applicants, and the directions given by the donor(s) of the funds.

Bernie Varnadore Scholarship Program

Dixie Boys Baseball, Inc. created Annual Scholarships to be given to High School Seniors. Outstanding High School Seniors who have participated in a franchised Dixie Boys Baseball, Incorporated program and plan to pursue undergraduate studies at a college or university may apply. Dixie Boys Baseball, Incorporated programs include Dixie Boys Baseball for boys 13 and 14 years old, Dixie Pre-Majors Baseball for boys 15 and 16 years old, and Dixie Majors Baseball for boys 15 thru 19 years old.  The Dixie Boys Baseball, the Incorporated scholarship provides eleven (11) $1,250.00 cash awards.
