All the outstanding female students majoring in accounting or accounting related field have an excellent call. AICPA is happily expecting applications for its worthy AWSCPA Scholarship Award. This award provides substantial financial support to the deserving candidates and makes the education easy and affordable for them. The eligibility requirements of the program are kept accessible so that infinite students can apply.

This award has been designed to support the students who are completing their accounting education. The goal of this program is to help the students in paying their educational costs by providing them with huge funds. The comfortable and straightforward criteria make it easy for a number of students to apply for it and get selected for the funds. This program is especially for women and to empower them. It expands the field of accounting through excellent students.

Founded in 1887, the AICPA represents the CPA profession nationally regarding rule-making and standard-setting and serves as an advocate before legislative bodies, public interest groups, and other professional organizations. The AICPA develops standards for audits of private companies and other services by CPAs; provides educational guidance materials to its members; develops and grades the Uniform CPA Examination, and monitors and enforces compliance with the profession’s technical and ethical standards. The AICPA’s founding established accountancy as a profession distinguished by rigorous educational requirements, high professional standards, a strict code of professional ethics, a licensing status, and a commitment to serving the public interest.

Who May Be Eligible?

Take a look at the below-given requirements to ensure your eligibility:

  • Female students majoring in accounting or accounting related field are eligible to apply for this award.
  • A woman pursuing an undergraduate or graduate-level degree in accounting or accounting-related major (Accounting-related shall be as determined by Sponsors in Sponsor’s sole discretion) is eligible.
  • Planning to pursue the CPA licensure but not presently be a CPA can apply.
  • Attending a public or private, not-for-profit (501(c)) four-year college or university in the U.S. or territories for the full 2020-21 academic year can apply.
  • The fellow should have completed at least 30 semester hours (or equivalent) of college coursework, including at least 6 semester hours (or equivalent) in accounting, by end of spring 2020.
  • Applicant should be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate (12 semester hours or equivalent) or a full-time graduate-level student (9 semester hours or equivalent) for the 2020-21 academic year.
  • An AICPA Student Affiliate member (or have submitted a new member application).
  • The applicant should be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (green card holder).
  • Candidate should be enrolled in a business and/or accounting program that is regionally, nationally, or internationally accredited for the full 2020-21 academic year.

How to Apply

Candidates who are eligible should apply for the program through the online application form. All the mandatory details and the materials should be provided through the same form. Late or incomplete documents will not be accepted by the firm. Other materials that verify your eligibility should be adequately equipped to be considered as a priority. Invalid data in the application is strictly prohibited.

Benefits

Up to 4 students will be selected to award these funds. $5,000 per recipient for one year. Payments are sent directly to the school for credit to the account of the student. This scholarship is a non-renewable award. Scholarship aid may be used only for the payment of expenses that directly relate to obtaining an accounting education (e.g., tuition, fees, room and board, and/or books and materials).
