The Tombow offers an Art Scholarship program for students enrolled in a full-time creative program at a U.S. university, college, or art school. The students who love Art and want to grow their career as an Artist in any field they like are welcomed for this program. This is the fourth annual contest. Participants have to make any creative artwork using graphite pencil, water-based marker/brush pen, alcohol-based marker brush/pen, drawing pen, and/or permanent marker. Artworks may include drawings, paintings, mixed media, and other studio artwork.
The award winners will be selected on the basis of their artwork, application, academic achievements and excellence, and their statement, which will describe their passion and why they want to be an artist, etc. Two top participants with the best artworks will get selected; out of the one grand prize winner will receive a scholarship amount of $5,000, and one runner up will receive $2,500. The amount will help students manage their tuition fees, books, other fees, and supplies that are required for educational purposes.

Who is Eligible?
- Applicant must be currently enrolled in a full-time creative program at a U.S. university, college or art school.
(Continuing education students and employees of American Tombow, Inc., as well as immediate family and household members of each such employee, Member’s of Tombow’s Design Team/Creator Crew and Brand Ambassador Program are not eligible.)

How to Apply?
Applicants who are interested in this art scholarship have to make their artwork using creative ideas, a digital portfolio that must be created using graphite pencil, water-based marker/brush pen, alcohol-based marker/brush pen, drawing pen, and/or permanent marker, at least one submission must be created using graphite pencils, and the portfolio must include file with their name, title, dimensions and year completed. Artworks may include drawings, paintings, mixed media, and other studio artwork. Participants should submit all the contents into one zipped file. With this, participants must submit a statement describing why they want to be an artist, why are they seeking this scholarship, what art means to them, what they want to learn, why are they committed to art, and their academic and career plans in about 300-500 words as a Word or PDF format in the artist’s statement section of the application. Students must attach a letter of recommendation from a current or past instructor familiar with their artistic qualifications and a copy of the transcript from high school/or college with this application or can also be sent by their school on the email provided as Marketing@TombowUSA.com

Benefits
The students will be selected on the basis of their application including their statement, academic, etc., and their artwork. Among all the submissions, one grand prize winner will be selected who will be awarded $5,000 and a runner-up who will receive $2,500. With these awards, recipients will also receive a package of Tombow products to use in their artwork with an approximate retail value of $500, and additionally, the school from where the student graduated will also receive the package. And the five more runner-ups will receive the package costs $100. The amount received by students as awards will be utilized for their educational purposes such as tuition fees, books, transportation, and other fees and supplies. The scholarship will help at a better level to students in pursuing their education and managing their finances, as the awards will be directly given to the winner.

The eligible and interested applicants should submit their entries with all the required documents before the deadline of March 01, 2022. After this deadline, applicants will not be able to submit their entries.
