Both the Shadetree commission and the free library of Springfield Township are announcing their contest ‘Arbor day poster contest.’ On the occasion of Arbor Day, this contest stands ahead for celebrating the usefulness of planting trees and saving deforestation. Arbor Day is celebrated every year with the aim to plant trees across the US and other countries. In this regard, this year, the Abor Day poster contest has been initiated by both the committees of Shadetree and Springfield Township. The scholarship is open among youngsters of age 18 or below. Last year was a tough time for every one of us due to Covid 19 situations. One of the most important things that we have learned during this period is how important it is for us to have abundant pure oxygen. Trees are the ways through which the reduction of carbon dioxide and the increase of oxygen in the environment are possible.
Through this poster contest, the youngsters of the nation will be made aware of the importance of trees. Since youngsters are the coming generation, it is important to make them understand how essential it is to keep trees alive. The poster contest is beneficial for the youths and all the people around for being motivated in planting trees and welcoming afforestation. Arbor Day is considered a holiday that is celebrated on the following Saturday of Arbor Day that is on 30th April 2021.
The Shadetree commission advises the mayor and council on the issues related to deforestation, shrubs and also works with the municipal board to preserve the street tree and local urban forest areas. Shadetree commission is also authorized to look after tree surveys, tree removal data, planting trees, etc., including all of these; it also looks after creating awareness among the public for tree planting importance. Therefore, STC, along with The Springfield Township, which covers 16 square miles and has a population of 36,319 residents, decides to organize this poster competition on the occasion of Arbor Day.
