APICS Case Competition

Applications are open for the APICS Case Competition provided by APICS in collaboration with Deloitte Consulting LLP. The competition is open for college or university students who are studying at the undergraduate or graduate level, and are aged 18 or over.

The competition provides student teams with an opportunity to enhance and test their supply chain knowledge by working on end-to-end supply chain challenges drawn from company experiences.

Who May Eligible:

To eligible, the candidates must be following all the eligibility criteria:

  • College or university students, at the undergraduate or graduate student level,
  • Aged 18 or over.
  • All team members must be current APICS Student Members. APICS Student membership is free. Become a Student Member.
  • Each team must have 2-4 students.
  • Any mix of graduate or undergraduate students is allowed on each team.
  • Each school may have an unlimited number of teams register to participate in the college/university round, but only two winning teams may be submitted per college/university.
  • Although business and engineering programs are the most common participants, faculty and students from any discipline interested in supply chain management are welcome.

Rules:

  • All team members must be full-time enrolled college/university students during the Fall 2018 semester and must be an APICS member (there is no charge for APICS student membership).
  • Each team must have at least two students and may have up to a maximum of four students.
  • Any mix of graduate or undergraduate students is allowed on a team.
  • All students must be from the same academic institution but may be enrolled in different degree programs.
  • Each team member must maintain APICS membership throughout the competition timeline.
  • Individuals may only participate on one team during a competition cycle.
  • Multiple years of participation are allowed as long as the student is enrolled full-time at a college/university.
  • No alternates or substitutions are allowed on a team.
  • To continue eligibility during later rounds of the competition, a team must still be composed of a minimum of two of the original team members.
  • Given the length of the competition cycle, spanning two different academic years, APICS understands that some team members may graduate and leave for employment or continued graduate level education opportunities.
  • However, those team members are still eligible to participate throughout the entire competition cycle as long as they maintain their APICS membership.
  • Although business and engineering programs are the most common participants, faculty and students from any discipline interested in supply chain management are welcome.

Benefits:

  • $5,000: Total prize money pool for the first, second, and third-place student team winners in the final round.
  • $2,500: Total prize money pool for the departments/schools of the first, second, and third-place winners in the final round.

Application Deadline:

Registration opens on August 15th and closes at 11:59p CST (US) on October 31, 2018.
