If you like photography, whether as a hobby, passion, or art or for documenting history, then APEC has an impressive photography program that you will definetely like. APEC Photo Contest will help you reducing or eliminating the financial burdens and altogether you can follow your dream and earn fame as well. As you know since 2020 there has been a worldwide impact of Covid-19, this year Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is organizing photo contest 2021 and inviting all professionals and amateur photo graphers to share their vision through photos capturing the contest theme and priorities. The tag line for the APEC photo contest is Capture, Submit, Win. You can take pictures with your phone and submit them to the contest, so all the students can also be a part.
Participants must be permanent residents or have the nationality of the APEC member economies: Australia; Brunei Darussalam; Canada, Chile, People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, United States, and Vietnam. In order to participate, you’ll need to take a snap that can showcase one of the given topics, add it to Instagram, add some pre-defined hash-tags. There will be total 5 awards, First Prize – SGD 2,500/-, Second Prize – SGD 2,000/-, Third Prize – SGD 1,500/-, Popular Choice – SGD 1,000/-, Instagram Influencer – SGD 1,000/-

- Innovation and a digitally enabled recovery
How to Apply?
APEC photo contest-2021, interested candidates must send their entries using the online form provided on the organization’s website or by tagging the APEC’s Instagram account (@apec). The image should be the original work of the participant. Photo should not exceed the size of 10MB. You can capture the photo with mobile as well. The preferred frame is landscape but portrait or square are also welcome.

- Add a hashtag indicating the APEC priority the photo showcase(#TradeResilience, #TradeIntegration, #SustainableRecovery, #InclusiveRecovery, #InnovationAPEC, #DigitallyEnabledRecovery)
- Add location and a title of the photo in the caption
- Photo should follow the general guidelines of the contest(see website)
- Max 3 entries from one candidate, more than 3 entries submitting candidates will be automatically disqualified.
- Optional: participant can also add a short story in the caption explaining the priority

5 winning entries will get a total of SGD 8,000 that can help with the tuition fee or other study related expenses and can reduce the need for student loan. The organization hopes to inspire bright students/candidates to pursue career in any field by empowering their academic and career goals by bringing down the financial barrier.
Application Deadline
APEC organizes yearly photo contest on different themes and priorities. Contest for 2021 is opened from July 22nd to September 27th. The winners will be announced in APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in New Zealand on 8 November 2021.
