Antibody Society Science Writing Competition

Antibody Society is organizing a science writing competition for the Antibody Society Students and Post-doctoral candidates. All the Antibody Society members are eligible to take part in the contest. The candidates have to submit an essay around 1200 to 1500 words on a topic related to antibody research. The candidates are free to use any graphics (in jpg format) to show their relevant point. The topics may include antibody engineering, antibody therapeutics, antibody-drug conjugates, etc. Only the first fifty essays received on and before July 1, 2021, will be considered for their candidatures. Winners will be on July 7, 2021. The essay should be an original work of the participants and have to be submitted in a word file format to the organization.

This is a great chance for society students and post-doctoral candidates to open up their knowledge reserves and research on the topic. Two winning essays; one student and one post-doc candidate, will be featured on the official website of the Antibody Society. Also, the winners will be given the opportunity to have a short talk on their essays in a society webcast. Along with this, the winners will get free registration for one of the society meetings. This is an opportunity for the candidates to showcase their knowledge and creativity and have a huge win. Getting featured on the website is a big thing. The Antibody Society was founded in 2007 as a non-profit association that represents individuals and organizations involved in antibody-related research and development. Their Antibody Immune Receptor Repertoire Community is a research-driven group that organizes and coordinate stakeholders in the use of next-generation sequencing technology to study antibody.  They aim to provide guidance for basic and applied research, as well as development and commercialization in the field.

Who May be Eligible?

All the Antibody Society students and Post-doc members are eligible to take part in The Science Writing Competition organized by the Antibody society. Only the first 50 essays submitted before July 1, 2021, will be considered for the competition. Hurry! Submit your essay as soon as possible.

How to Apply?

To take part in the science writing competition, the candidates need to submit a 1200 to 1500-word essay on a topic related to antibody research. You are allowed to use creative, eye-catching, high-resolution graphics (in JPG format) to help make your main point. Relevant topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Antibody Engineering
  • Antibody Therapeutics
  • Fc effector function and neutralization
  • Bispecific Antibodies
  • Antibody-drug conjugates
  • Adaptive immune receptor repertoires

The essays need to be sent to membership@antibodysociety.org as a word document.

Benefits

Two winners (one student and one post-doc candidate) will be selected on the basis of clarity, originality, creativity and structure of their essays. The winning essays will get a chance to be featured on the Antibody Society’s official website. And the winners will get an exclusive opportunity to give a short talk on their essay topic in a Society Webcast. Winners will also get a chance to attend the Society’s meeting where they co-promote their upcoming meetings page.

Application Deadline

The first 50 essays submitted on and before July 1, 2021, will be eligible for the competition. All the other submissions after the first 50 will not be taken under consideration.
