With the motive of releasing the financial burden on students and their families, American Express is seeking applications for its wonderful scholarship open for 2021. This organization has established this funding scheme to encourage students by recognizing their achievements and hard work that they have done during their previous education. The scholarship fund will be utilized to finance the undergraduate level of education of all deserving students. Applications for this program will be accepted from those in their final year of high school and plan to enrol in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the fall following graduation.
This is a solely need-based scholarship that will be granted those students who demonstrate genuine financial need. This scheme will be renewed for three years or until the applicants earns their bachelor degree. Renewal will be done based on satisfactory academic performance in full-time study and continuation of the program by American Express Foundation. This scholarship is available for supporting only undergraduate study and awarded regardless of students’ regard to race, colour, creed, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin. With this program, American Express aims to increase access to higher education for students whose financial crises are not allowing them to further their education.

Who May Be Eligible
- Applicants must be dependent children of active, regular, full-time, U.S., U.S. Assigned Staff, and Canadian employees of American Express Company or its subsidiaries, or dependent children of part-time employees working at least 20 hours per week as of the application deadline date, and;
- Candidates should be in their final year of high school, and planning to enrol in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the fall following graduation.
How to Apply
Interested applicants are required to complete an application form and return it along with the current, complete transcript of grades to the organization by the application deadline. Candidates are responsible for gathering and submitting all necessary information. Applications are evaluated on the information supplied; therefore, answer all questions as completely as possible. Incomplete applications will not be evaluated.
As supporting documents, all candidates are asked to provide a current complete transcript of grades.
The award amount ranges from $2,000 to $4,000 per year. This scholarship will be offered based on financial need, and are renewable up to three years or until candidates earn their undergraduate degree, whichever happens first. Renewal will be based upon satisfactory academic performance in full-time study and continuation of the program by American Express Foundation.
