American Council of the Blind Scholarships

American Council of the Blind, in collaboration with the American Foundation for the Blind, has developed amazing funding programs for students. The award amount of these scholarships ranges from $2,000 to $7,500. These exciting financial aid schemes will benefit those attending a technical college or entering freshman, undergraduate, or graduate student. The motive of both organizations behind sponsoring this program in partnership is to aid students with post-secondary education financial needs such as tuition, fees, room and board, and other additional costs associated with adaptive technology.

These programs require that candidates must be legally blind and full-time students and be involved in their school/local community. Aspirants with a 3.0 GPA are encouraged to apply to win the chance to get funding support. The sponsors understand how difficult it is for a student who is blind to meet all their financial needs and get a degree without the help of an educational loan. Both the American Council of the Blind and the American Foundation for the Blind have been dedicated to supporting and improving the condition of blinds in society. And as part of their commitment, they have initiated these funding opportunities to help blind students continue their education and achieve their academic dreams.

American Council of the Blind is a US-based organization supporting blind and visually impaired people since established in 1961. With many state affiliates and local chapters whose history can be traced back to the 1880s, it has been pursuing its mission of increasing independence, security, equality of opportunity, and quality of life for all blind and visually impaired people.
