Allwork Scholarship for University and College Students

AIA New York is happy to inform students that they are launching an Allwork Scholarship for the architecture students enrolled in NAAB-certified schools. The following grant is a merit-based grant that upholds students pursuing architecture with exhibited financial need. Students should be nominated by the senior member or chairman of the school of architecture wherein they are currently studying and applying for this grant. The selection of winning recipients of this grant will be based monetary need of students looking for their first architecture degree from a NAAB-authorize school (Allwork) or first design degree (CFA Design) with a significant degree of academic excellence. The submitted student’s portfolios, each containing three projects, ought to be decided based on the following measures: concept, creativity, and skills.

The purpose behind this scholarship is to help students complete their architecture degrees and achieve their dreams to the fullest by building successful careers. The organization is trying to remove all kinds of financial hindrances from its journey to success through this scholarship. The students looking for their first degree in architecture from a NAAB-authorized school in the State of New York are qualified. Students need not be U.S. residents. Students can’t be nominated for both the Allwork and CFA Design grants. Students in their last year of degree are not qualified to apply. An alumni understudy is qualified if their undergraduate degree is in a field other than architecture. The winners will be granted awards of up to $7,500 each, with the potential of an Honor grant of up to $10,000. The deadline to enter the Allwork scholarship program is March 21, 2022.

Who is Eligible?

The students looking for their first degree in architecture from a NAAB-authorized school in the State of New York are qualified. The dean or chair of the architecture school will select up to two understudies from their particular school or college to apply. Nominated understudies should have a high degree of academic excellence and proof of monetary need. Students need not be U.S. residents. Students can’t be nominated for both the Allwork and CFA Design grants. Students in their last year of degree are not qualified to apply. An alumni understudy is qualified if their undergraduate degree is in a field other than architecture

How to Apply?

To apply for the following scholarship, all aspects of the submission (application, portfolio, and two letters of recommendation) must be submitted electronically following the below-given guidelines:

  • Application and Portfolio
    The application and portfolio should be saved in the following:
  • Application: Allwork Application – Applicant’s Last Name
    Portfolio: Allwork Portfolio – Applicant’s Last Name
  • Applicants should email the application and portfolio in one message to scholarships@centerforarchitecture.org. Write in the subject line “Allwork Application” followed by the applicant’s last name. [Example subject line: Allwork Application – Smith] PDFs may not exceed 5 MB.
  • Letters of Recommendation
    Recommenders should save letters in the following manner:
  • Letter of Recommendation: Allwork Recommendation – Applicant’s Last Name
  • All letters of recommendation must be signed and on letterhead. Recommenders should email letters to scholarships@centerforarchitecture.org. Supporting Documents

The documents that need to be attached with your application form is as follows:

  • Portfolio: The portfolio should include three student projects as examples of work. Submissions of collaborative projects where the applicant’s role is not clear are discouraged. PDF documents may not exceed 5 MB.*

Applicants may choose to submit an additional PDF that is larger than 5 MB. This second PDF MUST be zipped. Do not submit slides.

  • Two Letters of Recommendation: All letters of recommendation must be signed and on letterhead. Recommenders should submit directly to scholarships@centerforarchitecture.org. One letter must be written by the nominating dean or chair. This letter will serve as the dean’s official nomination.

One letter must be written by a faculty member familiar with the applicant’s work.

Optional: The applicant may submit up to two more academic or professional references from an educator and/or architect testifying to achievement and professional promise demonstrated through academic or professional work in an architectural office.

Benefits

The submitted projects will be judged based on the criteria given: concept, artistry, skill. The winning recipients will be decided by the scholarship team appointed by Allwork. The winners will be granted awards of up to $7,500 each, with the potential of an Honor grant of up to $10,000.

Application Deadline

The last date to enter the Allwork scholarship program is March 21, 2022. The applications submitted later this date will be ignored.
