Students who belong to an underrepresented minority group and engaged in medical or healthcare professionals have an extraordinary chance to apply for the “Alliant Health Solutions/NMF Alzheimer’s or Related Dementia Care Scholarship”. The program is created by the National Medical Fellowships to assist needy students in their higher education.
The awards are designed to let students acquire more valuable and enhanced learning experience in their field of study. The organization ensures that no talented and hard-working student must face any kind of financial hurdles in their way of achieving higher and quality education.
National Medical Fellowships is one of America’s first diversity organizations, which was founded in 1946. NMF remains the only national organization solely dedicated to providing scholarships to medical and health professions students in all groups underrepresented in healthcare. It is supported by a nationwide network of Alumni who serve tens of millions of patients annually.
Who May Be Eligible?
Students with the below requirements will only be accepted for the scholarship program:
- Applicants must belong to the underrepresented minority group
- Candidates must be medical students
- Applicants must attend any medical school in the areas of Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, or Texas.
How to Apply
The NMF organization is considering scholarships through an online portal for the scholarship program. Interested and eligible students are required to submit their complete applications along with the mandatory documents through an online scholarship form to get consideration for the award. Incomplete applications will be void.
Supporting Documents
- The first letter should be sent from a dean faculty member or chief administrative officer from your academic institution. If you are an incoming 1st year, you are allowed to request a letter from someone at your previous educational institution.
- The second letter should be sent from a community leader or volunteer supervisor. If a community leader or volunteer supervisor is unavailable, a second letter from a dean, faculty member, or school administrative officer is acceptable.
Benefits
The organizations will distribute a $7,000 scholarship to two 3rd or 4th-year underrepresented minority medical students, who attend medical school in Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, or Texas. This program focuses on an enhanced learning experience wherein selected recipients will complete a research paper focused on a specific issue related to Alzheimer’s or Related Dementia Care.

The complete application packet must be submitted by the deadline of August 31, 2020, at 11:59 pm.
