Engineering students have good news to get their education funded! AIST or Association for Iron and Steel Technology is introducing its outstanding AIST Steel Intern Scholarships. Applicants who are citizens of a NAFTA country (USA, Canada, Mexico) and university freshmen, sophomore and junior students, and seniors planning to attend graduate school are welcome to apply for these stunning programs.
The goal of the programs is to support the students who are committed toward their studies in engineering majors. The foundation understands the responsibilities students are handling during their academics, along with a lot of stress about paying their academics debts. To lower this stress and help students perform exceptionally and help expand the field of engineering, these programs are initiated. The firm is committed toward helping students with considerable funds.
The Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST) is a non-profit organization with 18,500 members from more than 70 countries. With 30 Technology Committees and 21 Local Members Chapters, AIST represents an incomparable network of steel industry knowledge and expertise. Who May Be Eligible?
The firm is very specific with the eligibility criteria, and the students are strictly advised to follow the requirements:
- Students should be in engineering/engineering technology majors of metallurgy, materials science, electrical, mechanical, chemical, industrial, environmental, computer science and safety.
- Individual must be a citizen of a NAFTA country (USA, Canada, Mexico)
- Applicants should be accepted in a university as a freshman, sophomore and junior, or seniors planning to attend graduate school.
- Candidate must be enrolled full-time in a four-year undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited North American university.
- The fellow should have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
How to Apply
Only the eligible students should begin with the application process. Candidates should submit their form before the deadline as late or invalid data in the applications will be the cause to reject the form. The author should submit two recommendation letters to lwharrey@aist.org. Other details in the form should be submitted with concern. Candidates should maintain the originality of all the assignments and the materials.

- Resume (Including current academic information, work, extra-curricular activities and leadership positions).
- Essay: Not to exceed two pages in length, citing professional goals, why you are interested in a career in the steel industry, and how your skills could be applied to enhance the industry.
- University Transcript (Provide High School Transcript if a current first-year university student.)
- Recommendation Letters – Two recommendation letters are required. Letters can be from academia (advisor and another professor) or other professional.
Benefits
Up to thirty steel intern scholarships are valued at $6000 each. This amount will be utilized to pay the educational expenses of the students.
