American science and engineering society are pleased to offer its Aises A.T Anderson Scholarship. This scholarship is available for undergraduate and graduate students in the United States.
AISES will be Awarded $1,000 for the academic year for undergraduate students and $2,000 for academic year for graduate students. AISES has awarded American Indian STEM students $ 11 million in academic scholarship.
Who May Eligible:
To eligible, the candidates must be following all the eligibility criteria:
- You must have a Degree related to any STEM such as mathematics, medical science, physics, technology, science, engineering, or natural resources.
- Students should be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in a recognized two-year or four-year college / university for the 2019-2020 academic years.
- Applicants must be a registered member or a member of the American Indian tribe recognized by a federal or state or nominated member of the Alaska native village;
- Applicants also must be enrolled member or a decedent of Native Hawaiian or decedent from a Native Hawaiian; or Pacific Islander or decedent from Pacific Islander; or Indigenous person of Canada.
- Scholarships for non-citizens of the United States cannot always be available in AISES.
- Must be a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
How to Apply & Competition Rules

Rules:
- In order to apply for an eligible scholarship, the students will answer the required questions and submit all the requested documents.
- Once completed, the scholarship will appear in the tab as “applicable”.
- A copy of the nomination papers and / or birth certificates of the students, which reflects a nominated citizen, Canadian indigenous group, native Hawaii, or descent from the Pacific Islands, are acceptable. Applicant may also, instead, provide a copy of their Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood or Certificate of Degree of Alaska Native Blood (CDIB) card.
- Each scholarship will be applied separately and there will be special requirements for each scholarship.
- Applications that do not have the required letters of recommendations will be considered incomplete and disqualified.
- Essays: Students
are required to submit 3 essays, up to 500 words each. These essays are
an important part of the scholarship review process.
- Essay Prompt 1: Please share a personal statement that highlights your background, academic achievements, and interests. Include information on courses taken and any honors or advanced placement courses. Talk about what motivates and challenges you intellectually and what impact you hope to have in your community and/or profession.
- Essay Prompt 2: What stimulated your interest in your chosen major or area of study?
- Essay Prompt 3: What activity or activities (cultural, community-related, occupational, academic, athletic etc.) most clearly reflect your character? Please describe your participation. Why is participation in this activity or these activities important to you?
Benefits:
For this scholarship, undergraduate students will be awarded $1,000 and Graduate students will be awarded $2,000.
