ACM/CSTA Cutler-Bell Prize

The Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) invites applications for the 2018-2019 ACM/CSTA Cutler-Bell Prize. The competition is open to high school students intending to continue their higher education in the areas of computer science or technology.

This program seeks to boost and encourage the field of computer science, as well as to empower young and aspiring learners to pursue computing challenges outside of the traditional classroom environment.

Up to four winners will be selected annually and each will be awarded a $10,000 prize which will be administered through the financial aid department at the university the student will attend.

Who May Eligible:

To eligible, the candidates must be following all the eligibility criteria:

  • Eligible applicants for the award will include graduating high school seniors residing and attending school in the US. Challenges for the award will focus on developing an artifact that engages modern computing technology and computer science.
  • Judges will look for submissions that demonstrate ingenuity, complexity, relevance, originality, and a desire to further computer science as a discipline.
