AASM Student Video Contest for High School Students

The American Academy of Sleep Medicine has organized a video contest for students studying in high school in the United States or students who attend a department of defense school even if the school is in another country, and high school students who are home schooled. The contest is based on the theme “Make sleep Work for You,” where participants have to make a 15-90 seconds video describing how sleep works in everyone’s life. Able to think more clearly and creatively. The three best participants will be selected for awards based on their video’s originality, quality, appropriateness, relevance, and accuracy of messages. The first-place winner will be awarded $1,000, 2nd with $500, and 3rd with $250, which will be split between them and their schools. The contest will help students understand and share the importance of sleep in their lives and how it affects their lifestyles. This will help spread awareness among people, specifically the teens, to make their life healthier, happier and disease-free. 

The AASM was started in 1975 as a United States professional society for the medical sub specialty of sleep medicines to promote optimal health for patients and the public. Their mission is to advance sleep care and enhance sleep health to improve lives, and vision is that sleep is recognized as essential to health.

How to Apply?

The students who want to enter this contest should fill out the entry form and fill up all the required details in each field. Participants should make a video of 15-90 seconds in which they need to share their thoughts relevant to the theme. They can make the video in any style or genre, such as animation, drama, comedy, musical, or documentary. After completion of the video, they should upload it on YouTube with the hashtag #MakeSleepWork2022 and share the public link to the AASM along with their entry form.

Benefits

The winners of this contest will be selected based on their video’s originality, quality, appropriateness, relevance, and accuracy of the messages they wish to convey through their video. Among all the participants, three winners will get selected as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, and they will receive award amounts of $1,000, $500, and $250 respectively, which will be split between them and their respective schools. This contest will help students and other people get aware of sleeping importance and how it affects everyone’s life.
