If your family income isn’t sufficient to cover college expenses, need-based awards might be great options for you. The American Association of Law Librarians is thrilled to offer the AALL Scholarships.
The award program is available for both full-time and part-time students who are currently attending high school in the USA or Canada. The program aims to support students to pay for college.
The AALL is known as American Associate of Law Libraries founded in 1906 by A. J Small. It is a non-profit educational organization holding a mission to promote and enhance the law libraries to the legal and public communities.
Who May Eligibility
Interested candidates must meet the below requirements:
- Candidates must have a citizenship of USA or Canada
- Students should not be attending high school currently
- Applicable for both full-time and part-time students
- Applicants are required to be affiliated with the American Association of Law Librarians
How to Apply
Students are required to download and submit the applications with all the necessary documents in a PDF form via email – scholarships@aall.org.
Supporting Documents:
- Transcripts of all institutes attended beyond high school
- A letter of the Admission Officer of the law school, library school or a transcript that provides a degree candidate in good standing and at least one semester remaining after the scholarship is awarded
- Two letters of recommendation
- A personal statement that includes financial information, interest & career goals in law librarianship, and reason for applying for this scholarship.
- A current resume
- Submit complete and well written personal information addressing your current financial situation and need for the grant

The scholarship awards vary and will be provided based on eligibility and economic needs of a student.
