The Asian Pacific Islander American has announced their Applied Research Fellowship (ARF) program for those who are self-Identified as Asian American, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander (AANHPI), has also demonstrated technical skills in research methods, data collection, data entry, database management, demonstrated experience in SPSS or other statistical software(e.g., R, STATA, SAS), and strong data analysis and writing. The program welcomes enrolled graduate students from all majors who have knowledge or experience with issues related to the AANHPI community and a strong interest in policy. This program offers AANHPI graduate students to perform applied research that elevates prominent concerns affecting AANHPI students in higher education and to generate suggestions for systemic change using a policy-minded approach.
Applicants who will get selected for this fellowship program will receive a stipend of $5,000, applied research & policy development workshops, coaches in data analytics, policy, and communications, with they will get to connect with the national AANHPI community and advocacy network, and co-authorship on published report and collateral. With this, they will get adapt professional competencies such as research & data analytics, policy-oriented thinking, communication, media, and design. This will empower these students to conduct applied research and develop a policy-minded approach to devise recommendations for systematic change.

Its mission is to build power, develop leaders, and advance equity through organizing, advocacy, community development, and cultural work. They have an impact that the people’s volunteerism allows the APIA community to grow. Through this scholarship, they aim to educate the field and stakeholders on the diversity of the APIA community and the socio-historical-cultural experiences in the education to workforce journey, Elevate the issues impacting APIA students and their communities today and translate research into actionable solutions, Empower institutions, organizations, supporters, and students with tools to advocate for equitable and systemic change.

How to Apply?
All eligible applicants should complete the application process, for they must provide a recent CV or Resume, one or two-page cover letter outlining why they are interested in the fellowship program, how their experience and skills will enable them to contribute to the project’s success, how this program will support their professional development goals, also attach a short essay examining an existing piece of research in any of the following topics (Anti-Asian Hate & AANHPI Racism, Civic Engagement & Leadership, English Learners, Mental Health & Wellbeing) on the AANHPI community that you found persuasive, impactful, or missing an important perspective or showing a critical gap of knowledge about our community, Identify recipients that can benefit most from this research and stakeholders who have the potential to affect meaningful change for AANHPI students. And the applicant must include a citation for the work that their reference. The citation will not count toward the word limit (in max 400 words). All the materials should be submitted to:
