Optiv’s Black Employee Network (BEN) Scholarship for High School Seniors

This grant is being supported by Optiv’s Black Employee Network (BEN), an employee-driven initiative that is a part of Optiv’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Program. BEN makes a secured spot for Black representatives to make associations, develop personally and expertly, and open doors in the cybersecurity field. Who is Eligible?

The eligibility criteria for the following scholarship is as follows:

  • Be a graduating high school senior.
  • Be able to verify acceptance into an eligible degree program (including but not limited to computer science, electrical engineering, math, etc.).
  • Have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Maintain a cumulative undergrad GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale to remain eligible for the scholarship over the course of four years.
  • Be planning a career in cybersecurity/information security.
  • Complete the scholarship application and include a one-page essay and two letters of reference.
  • Identify as Black and African American (African, African American, Caribbean, for example) and be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. national, or permanent resident.
