National Scholarship Competition for College Students with Disabilities

Chasing aspirations and working toward dreams might sound easy for some of us who come from an influential background and don’t have any kind of disability. But when it comes to disabled people, simple things turn harder. Unlike normal people, students with disabilities have to face some challenges during their learning and career journey. From financial issues to fitting into a new environment and maintaining a balance between their education and treatment, there are many barriers that come with being disabled. But no hurdle can keep such students from achieving their goals and touching new heights in their careers. disabled person, Inc. has been dedicated to motivating students with disabilities through its programs. And as a part of its mission of assisting such students, it has launched the “National Scholarship Competition” for fall 2021.

Applications for this program will be accepted from those who are enrolled in a 2 or 4 years accredited college or university in the United States of America. High school students are not eligible to participate in this program. The contest will run from August 17, 2021, through October 13, 2021. Once the entrant gets selected to receive funds, they will have to prove disability and matriculation through their Disability Student Services department. The winner will be announced on the organization’s official website on October 27, 2021. All the decisions made by a disabled person, Inc. will be final. This scholarship cum contest requires students to write down a wonderful essay of 1000 words on the suggested topic.

Disabled Person, Inc. is a charity organization working toward its mission of reducing the unemployment rate of people and veterans with disabilities.

Who is Eligible?

Please check out the following criteria before working on your application:

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a 2 or 4 years accredited college or university in the United States of America;
  • Aspirants must be a matriculated student and attending school full-time and U.S. citizen;
  • Students who are not attending school full-time as long as the part-time attendance is due to their disability and not their financial situation (minimum of 6 credits for undergraduate, 6 credits for graduate) may apply;
  • High school students are not eligible to apply.

How to Apply?

To send the candidature, applicants will have to register themselves through the online portal of disabled person, Inc. Once they complete the registration process, they will become part of this program. The registration form needs to be filled with accurate and complete information. Supporting Documents

As supporting documents, aspirants can provide an essay of 1,000 words on the following prompt: What are your thoughts about support groups, are they beneficial, or not? Please feel free to share your experience if you have been in one.

Benefits

Successful applicants will receive $2,000 as an award amount that they can utilize to buy educational material, cover some expenses such as tuition and transportation, or they can invest it into their educational endeavors.
