Applications are open for the Ladas Memorial Award Competition funded by the International Trademark Association. The competition is open to the students must be enrolled as either full- or part-time law or graduate students.
Two student winners will receive a complimentary registration for each US $2,500 and 2019 annual meeting. Stephen P. to the professional winner, A set of three-volume texts, patents, trademarks, and related rights will be received by Ladas.

Who May Eligible:
To eligible, the candidates must be following all the eligibility criteria:
Student
- Eligible students must be enrolled as either full- or part-time law or graduate students.
- For students outside of the United States, university enrollment is acceptable.
- Students must provide proof of matriculation; school ID is acceptable.
Professional
- Authors may be legal practitioners, business professionals and/or academics.
- No restrictions regarding a level of experience or years in practice apply

Rules:
- The subject of the paper must be trademark law or a matter that directly relates to, or affects, trademarks.
- Eligible papers may include both original unpublished manuscripts and published articles that are submitted to INTA by the submission deadline.
- Published articles must have been first published no longer than one year prior to the competition deadline.
- The paper must be a product of the author’s original thought and scholarship.
- Paper may be co-authored.
- More than one paper may be submitted for consideration.
- The paper must be limited to twenty-five pages.
Benefits:
Student Category
- The top two
papers in this category will be selected as award recipients and the winners
will each receive:
- A cash award of U.S. $2,500.
- Complimentary registration to the 2018 Annual Meeting.
Professional Category
- The top paper in this category will be selected as the award recipient and the winner will receive:
- A set of Stephen P. Ladas’s three-volume treatise Patents, Trademarks, and Related Rights.
- Complimentary registration to the 2018 AnnualMeeting.
