Gates Millennium Scholars Program is very curious to announce the Gates Millennium Scholars Funds for the students who belong to the minority group from African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American, and Hispanic American. The Gates Millennium Scholars Program believes in providing equal education to all students. They have initiated this scholarship for the students where the undergraduate student will be provided with any discipline area of interest. The student may request Continuing Gates Millennium Scholars funding for a graduate degree program in any of discipline areas: computer science, education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health or science.
The program aims to provide equal opportunity for higher education if the nation sustains and advances itself as a global, competitive democracy in the new millennium. They work to provide equal education to all the students, irrespective of their background, religion, colour etc. they believe that every individual has an equal right to receive an education. They have complete faith that education is the only way to develop the nation and encourage innovation in the world.
The Gates Millennium Scholars Program was established in 1999, funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The program believes that the future of the nation’s economy, democracy, and quality of life depends on the preparation of a diverse cadre of leaders who will help build a stronger society. The members, drawn from groups that have traditionally and historically been denied pursuit to higher education, must receive the support needed to negotiate the pathway to completing a college education.
