Have you ever thought about how a city would look like if you could have designed it? How future cities do you think should be? Well, if you want to develop designing skills and enhance your talent at the same time, then you have come to the right place. STEM Forward has brought an amazing competition that is giving students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades a chance to imagine, research, design, and build cities of the future. Registration is now open for this program until January 15, 2022. The theme of the contest is “Design a waste-free city that uses the principles of a circular economy.”
Future City Competition is more than just a contest. It is a project-based learning program that makes available a platform for young students where they can learn, enhance their knowledge, show their potential and gain experience. This program involves authentic and carefully created projects that transform middle school students’ understanding of engineering and strengthen their teamwork, problem-solving, and project management skills. You can send your entry for this program through the online portal of Future City Competition. For detailed information, please scroll down.
STEM Forward was created by a group of 59 engineers who met in the Colonial Room of the Plankinton House on Dec. 13, 1905, to elect officers and directors. It was started under the name of the Engineering Society of Milwaukee (Society) that later had been changed to the Engineers & Scientists of Milwaukee. The mission of this organization is to form a cooperative body to meet the needs of all engineers and technical men in the community.
