The Boomer Esiason Foundation (BEF) has organized some scholarships for students who are suffering from Cystic Fibrosis disease or have a sibling with CF, or have a parent living with CF. The scholarship will be provided to students of the United States who want to seek higher education. All the college students, undergraduates, or graduates can apply for the scholarship program depending on each scholarship criteria.
The Foundation has set up a variety of scholarships and their awards, such as the Boomer Esiason Foundation Academic Scholarship: It is a general academic scholarship program that will be judged on applicant’s scholastic ability, character, leadership potential, service to the community, and need for financial assistance. This scholarship program offers 15 awards worth $10,000 each. Paul Drury Memorial CF Sibling Scholarship: It is for the students who are the sibling of CF patients to achieve their academic goals. This scholarship program offers an amount of about $5,000. SACK for CF Scholarship: It is for the students who strive for therapy adherence and academic success, and this program is related to quarterback sacks made during the NFL season. This program offers scholarships to more than 18 colleges or 30 students ranging from $3,000-$10,000. All these scholarship programs and awards help and motivate the students suffering from CF or their related close ones to complete their education and achieve their goals without having more financial concern.
Boomer Esiason Foundation was established in the year 1993 and created the scholarship program in the year 2003. The foundation works on this scholarship program with a mission and mission is to provide financial assistance to those students who are battling against the CF disease or siblings or parents who are pursuing higher educational opportunities.

Who is Eligible?
Standard criteria, All applicants must:
- Attend college or university in the United States
- Have a cystic fibrosis diagnosis or have a sibling with a CF diagnosis or have a Parent living with cystic fibrosis.
Paul Drury Memorial CF Sibling Scholarship:
- Undergraduate or graduate
- A student who has a sibling with CF (but does not have CF themselves)
- College students
How to Apply?
The applicants who fit into the eligibility criteria for different scholarship programs should choose the best suitable scholarship for them. After that, one should create a new account if they are a new user, and the one who already has an account should log in directly using their credentials. Applicants should get themselves registered and fill the application form appropriately. Also, with this application form applicant must attach some required documents such as:
- Application
- Recent photo (except for Boomer Academic Scholarship)
- Letter from physician (on letterhead) confirming CF diagnosis and therapy routine
- And if applying for Paul Drury scholarship, the letterhead must include the sentence ‘My patient (name), has been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis and his/her brother/sister(name), is applying to the Paul Drury memorial scholarship
- Transcript (high school, college, and/or graduate school)
- A detailed breakdown of tuition assistance costs from the academic institution (for perspective freshman only)
- W2 form for both parents or tax return if self-employed
For the students who are applying for Boomer Academic Scholarship:
The applicants must attach an essay that will automatically be considered for additional financial assistance. The essay must be the long-form answer to specific questions about scholarship designations.

The applicants who are eligible for the above scholarships will be selected based on their academic ability, character, leadership potential, service to the community, and need for financial assistance. The winners will get awarded from $3,000-$10,000 depending on the scholarship and its criteria and the applicant’s academic performance. The amount received by the applicant will be used for their education-related financial assistance, which will help them to seek higher education with less financial concern. Also, they will be able to achieve their goals.
Application Deadline
The applicants who want to apply for the scholarship programs must submit their applications with all the required documents before the respective scholarships deadline. The Boomer Academic scholarship, Paul Drury Memorial scholarship, and SACKS for CF deadlines are declared on April 29, October 07, and January 07, 2022, The applications received after the dates mentioned will not be accepted for consideration.
