The Arts Council of Wilson understands the struggles of the artists to survive in the situation of a global pandemic. To lower some burden of artists, the council initiated the incredible Artist support Grant General Scholarship. An artist who is musicians, filmmakers, actors, dancers, literary artists, visual artists residing in North Carolina have a high chance of winning the Arts Council of Wilson Artist Support Grant General Scholarship to get themselves supported in this worst situations.
The Art scholarship helps students with their expenses needed to learn and create new artwork. This scholarship will help to improve an artist’s business operations and capacity to bring their work to new audiences. The Artist Support Grant was started to provide direct support to individual artists or small groups of artists during and following the COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative will fund professionals and artists to enhance their skills and abilities to create new work.
The Art Council of Wilson, North Carolina’s mission, is to improve the quality of life for all citizens by being a hub for artistic experiences. Who May Be Eligible?
Go through the below-given eligibility requirements before applying for the program.
- Applicants can participate individually as well as in small, incorporated groups of an artist.
- Candidates should be United States citizens or permanent residents. Applicants should be a North Carolina resident.
- The fellow should be lived continuously for at least one year in the counties of Nash, Pitt, Wayne, Edgecombe, Wilson.
- Candidates can be dancers, musicians, actors, filmmakers, literary artists, visual artists.
- Applicants should be at least 18 years to be eligible for this scholarship.
- Current board, staff members or partner organizations, and their family members are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.
How to Apply
Applications must be completed and submitted online. Applicants should submit complete applications with all the documents to be eligible for this scholarship. All the other supporting material required for the award should be provided with concern. Invalid or incomplete details will nor be proceeded for further review. All applications should be submitted before the deadline.
Supporting Documents
Applicant must submit the following supporting documents with the application:
- The fellow should submit their student’s profile with the application form.
- Applicants should attach proof of being a United States Citizen or permanent resident with the applications.
- Candidates should attach their statements. This personal statement should describe applicants’ work, their ideas, goals, and cultural practices that drive them to create new artwork. The personal statement should not exceed the one-page limit.
- Applicants should submit their updated resume. The resume attached should include education, employment, public presentations of applicants’ work, publications, commissions, honors, grants/fellowship/scholarships received, awards, achievements, and relevant experience. The resume should be four pages maximum.
- An individual should attach support information for their budget (i.e. cost of materials, price quote on service, etc.)
- Applicants should submit digital copies of reviews, programs, catalogs, and other support materials to the project. These documents should be submitted physically; digital documents are not considered for a scholarship.
- The fellow should attach letters of recommendation. These letters should be from someone who knows about the applicant’s educations, skills, and achievements.
- Applicants should submit their work samples and inventory list with the application.
Benefits
The North Carolina Arts Council of Wilson Artist Support Grant General Scholarship funds the artists between $500 to $1,000. This scholarship fund should be used for the development of artists and their work. This program encourages artists to do better in the fields of arts. It appreciates their unique talent and passion.
