Aarhus School of Architecture is organizing a Photo of The Year 2021 contest, an international photo contest for architecture understudies with the purpose of celebrating the meaning of architecture photography for the advancement of architecture. The following contest is supported and sponsored by Dinesen and the Dreyer Foundation. In 2019, the Aarhus School of Architecture first started the worldwide architecture photograph contest for architecture aspirants. Through this contest, ASA is providing aspirants with an opportunity to show their photography skills and their knowledge in the architecture field by submitting the photos that best suits or describes architecture.
The best architecture photos will approach photography according to an architecture perspective and bring out the capability of photography to challenge how we see and work with architecture. Following the theme of the contest “Architectural Landscapes” which is centered around the communication of architecture and landscape. The theme is very well described in quite a detail on the official scholarship website, the candidates are advised to refer to that for more details. To be eligible for the following scholarship, the competitors must be enrolled in the school of architecture or have completed a degree in architecture in 2021. Aspirants enrolled in a PhD program at a school of architecture and are on leave from their architecture studies or are at present working in an architecture entry-level position are also eligible to enter. The deadline for application submission is October 18, 2021.

Who is Eligible?
Following are the eligibility requirements for the following scholarship contest:
- Competitors must be enrolled in the school of architecture or have completed a degree in architecture in 2021.
- Aspirants enrolled in a Ph.D. program at a school of architecture and are on leave from their architecture studies or are at present working in an architecture entry-level position are also eligible to enter.
How to Apply?
To enter the contest, the interested individuals are required to register themselves first by filling out the application form given on the scholarship portal and then upload their photos on the same form given.
The candidates are required to submit a series of five photos. The photos must follow the corresponding theme of the contest: Architectural Landscapes.
Benefits
The three winners will be chosen out of all applications submitted by the applicants. The three winners will be awarded the following prizes:
- First prize: 5,000 euros
- Second prize: 2,000 euros
- Third prize: 1,000 euros
